Friends of the San Jacinto Mountains County Parks (FSJMCP) was established as a nonprofit public benefit corporation under the California Corporations Code in 1978 "To assist, promote, advance, and develop the historical, scientific, educational, and cultural aspects pertaining to the Riverside County California area, area parks". We are a 501c3 nonprofit under the US Internal Revenue Code (EIN: 95-3247510).

FSJMCP MISSION

Our mission is to promote the coordination of activities and events for the local community and visiting public through volunteer initiatives and support; the provision of funds for general park supplies and infrastructure; and, the collaboration with Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District (RIVCO) to report and assist in addressing areas of concern within the community and Mountain Parks (Idyllwild Nature Center and Idyllwild County Park).

SUPPORT GOALS

1. To recruit and retain sufficient volunteers to plan, coordinate, and execute various activities, events, and enrichment activities for the promotion of environmental literacy and well being of the Idyllwild Nature Center and the Idyllwild County Park.
2. To maintain and/or fund raise for various purposes including interpretive programming; park enhancements and features; interpretive infrastructure; and, exhibit development or improvements at the request of and/or in collaboration with RIVCO.
3. To provide special event planning and support at the request of RIVCO whenever possible. Similarly, accept RIVCO support for special event planning and environmental literacy efforts to take place at the Idyllwild Nature Center and Idyllwild County Park.
4. To, in collaboration with RIVCO, maintain a general focus on the promotion of environmental litreacy as well as the hitorical and cultural heritage of the Idyllwild Nature Center and Idyllwild Regional Park in Educational Programming and general outreach.
